FOCUS Connect in Campbelltown is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable children, youth, and families through prevention, early intervention, case work, and parenting programs, with a focus on our multicultural (CALD) communities across Macarthur and South West Sydney.
FOCUS Connect’s family capacity building program supports multicultural (CALD) families with children aged 0-17 in the Macarthur region. Families collaborate with a qualified caseworker to identify their goals, needs, and potential risk areas. This holistic, child-centred, and strengths-based approach aims to empower families by helping them build capacity and develop skills in areas identified by the family or through caseworker assessments.
FOCUS Connect offers culturally effective, evidence-based parenting programs, including free playgroups, school readiness programs, and parenting support services.
Triple P is our free parenting program that is available to all families with children aged 0-11 years living in the Macarthur region. This program equips parents with practical solutions to everyday parenting challenges by teaching evidence-based strategies backed by research.
Designed for parents and carers of preschoolers, Tuning Into Kids (TIK) strengthens emotional connections by improving the communication and understanding between both parties. It also equips children with skills for managing emotions, preventing behavioural issues, and resolving conflicts effectively.
For parents and carers of teenagers, Tuning Into Teens (TIT) is a program aimed at fortifying emotional connections. It does this by fostering improved empathy and communication. The approach assists teenagers in cultivating emotional intelligence, addressing difficult behaviours, and mastering conflict resolution, all of which aid in their journey towards adulthood.
FOCUS Connect’s Dads Turning Into Kids (TIK) program is dedicated to strengthening the emotional bond between fathers and their children in the South West Sydney region. The program aims to enhance parent-child communication, support the development of emotional management skills in children, prevent behavioural issues, and more by improving fathers' or father figures’ emotional competence and skills.
Our multicultural playgroups and events for children aged 0-5 in the Macarthur area, led by qualified facilitators, focus on "Learning through Play" to support emotional, social, and motor development. These sessions strengthen community and parent-child bonds and offer valuable insights on childhood development and local services, creating a positive environment for children and parents to learn and socialise across diverse cultures.
