Summary:

We are seeking experienced Drivers to join our team in Campbelltown, New South Wales. As a Driver, you will be responsible for providing integrated and culturally appropriate transport services to individuals in Aged Care and Disability services. This is a Permanent Part-Time position.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate FOCUS Connect’s 12 seater and 22 seater vehicles or other assigned vehicle to transport participants to their destinations
• Provide assistance and support to participants during boarding, disembarking, and while on the vehicle
• Ensure the comfort and safety of participants throughout their journey
• Maintain cleanliness and regular maintenance checks of FOCUS Connects vehicles
• Follow established routes and schedules while ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs
• Communicate effectively with participants, colleagues, and supervisors regarding any changes or delays in transportation services
• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures
• Retain appropriate level of RTA licence required to fulfil duties.
• Ensure vehicle’s legal carrying capacity of passengers at all times
• Operate the vehicle in a manner that is safe and within the legislative requirements
• Ensure safety of participants while in the vehicle at all times
• Report all concerns and observations of client’s health and behaviour to management
• Ensure that all notices and directions are read before commencement of the run.
• Ensure to report on any vehicle mechanical defects or damage and other incidents / vehicle activity.
• Secure and lock bus and gates at the completion of the run.
• Undergo training as required.
• Other duties as directed by Management.

Essential Criteria:

• Current and valid Unrestricted Drivers Licence
• Current and valid first aid certificate
• Cleared National Criminal History Check
• Cleared Working with Children's Check
• Clear driving record
• Previous experience in a similar role, in Aged Care and/or Disability
• Experience in client driving

Desirable Criteria:

• Bi-cultural background and fluency in a language other than English: such as Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Italian and Spanish.
• Hold drivers licence other than C class
• Can drive larger vehicles, more than 12 seater
• Access to a fully insured vehicle
