Empowering Lives: FOCUS Connect Launches Safer Multicultural Families Initiative

We are thrilled to announce the successful acquisition of a new grant through the National Partnership Agreement. This significant milestone has paved the way for the launch of our Multicultural Stronger Families Program, a vital initiative focused on addressing the critical issues surrounding Domestic Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV).
Securing Funding for Positive Change:
In early 2023, our team at FOCUS Connect dedicated efforts to compete in a grant process supported by the National Partnership Agreement. We are proud to share the news that our endeavors proved successful, resulting in secured funding that will fuel the Safer Multicultural Families initiative. This accomplishment underscores our commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by DFSV.
Empowering Multicultural Victim-Survivors:
The Multicultural Stronger Families Program is strategically designed to empower multicultural victim-survivors of DFSV, offering them a path to lead independent, secure, and more fulfilling lives. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by individuals in diverse cultural backgrounds, our program is tailor-made to address the specific needs of those we aim to support.
Core Objectives of the Program:
Our program's core objectives align with the broader mission of creating a safer and more supportive environment for survivors of DFSV.
These objectives include:
Stable Housing:
Providing a secure foundation for individuals to rebuild their lives, starting with stable and safe housing.
Facilitating Social Connections: Fostering a sense of community and belonging by facilitating social connections that promote healing and resilience.
Creating a Sense of Safety: Establishing an environment where participants feel safe, supported, and empowered to take control of their lives.
Essential Service Links: Connecting individuals with essential services, ensuring they have access to the resources needed for holistic recovery.
Improved Health and Overall Well-being: Prioritising mental and physical health to support survivors in their journey toward improved well-being.
Supportive Group Setting for Recovery:
Our program goes beyond providing essential services; it offers participants a supportive group setting where they can connect with others who share similar experiences. This community-building aspect enhances the recovery journey, providing a network of understanding and encouragement.
