Programs for Community
With an emphasis on family and valuing the cultural diversity in our community, we assist with various issues affecting family life, including parenting, housing, finances, domestic violence and safety, relationships, child development, child protection, family conflict and social isolation.
The TEI program provides vital support to vulnerable Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) families with children aged 0-17 years residing in the Macarthur Region.
Funded by the Department of Communities and Justice, the TEI program is dedicated to reducing the risk of children entering the child protection system, including out-of-home care. Its primary focus is empowering families to lead independent and meaningful lives while ensuring they have access to support related to childhood health and well-being.
FOCUS Connect covers intake, assessment, family capacity building, parenting programs and supported playgroups.
FOCUS Connect provides culturally effective evidence-based parenting programs.
Triple P is our free parenting program that is available to all families with children aged 0-11 years living in the Macarthur region. This program equips parents with practical solutions to everyday parenting challenges by teaching evidence-based strategies backed by research.
Designed for parents and carers of preschoolers, Tuning Into Kids (TIK) strengthens emotional connections by improving the communication and understanding between both parties. It also equips children with skills for managing emotions, preventing behavioural issues, and resolving conflicts effectively.
For parents and carers of teenagers, Tuning Into Teens (TIT) is a program aimed at fortifying emotional connections. It does this by fostering improved empathy and communication. The approach assists teenagers in cultivating emotional intelligence, addressing difficult behaviours, and mastering conflict resolution, all of which aid in their journey towards adulthood.
Tailored specifically for CALD families in the Macarthur area with children aged 0-17 years, our Child and Parenting Program (CAPP) aims to support families through early intervention. CAPP offers a comprehensive approach by combining supported playgroups with case management in order to provide holistic support and resources.
Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a free two-year home-based enrichment program for preschool-aged children. Designed to complement the Australian school curriculum, HIPPY leverages play-based activities integrated into daily routines, empowering parents to build on their strengths and foster their children's learning and development.
Our playgroups, which are led by qualified facilitators, cater to children aged 0-5 years in the Macarthur Area. These sessions are dedicated to nurturing the overall wellbeing of both parents and their children.
Focused on the principle of "learning through play," our playgroups are specifically designed to bolster the emotional, social, and physical development of young children. It essentially helps to create a solid foundation for their future growth.
Involves a series of creative, themed physical activity sessions that encourage children to enjoy a fun, healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The Start Strong program provides literacy and numeracy educational support for children aged 0-3 years.
The Multicultural Stronger Families Program is focused on addressing issues related to Domestic Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV).
At FOCUS Connect, our commitment is to uplift survivors of family and domestic violence by offering personalised services. We aim to nurture positive relationships and provide survivors with the necessary skills and support to build a prosperous future.
Our program specifically supports multicultural victim-survivors of DFSV to help them achieve independence, security, and a more fulfilling life.
Its core objectives include providing stable housing, facilitating social connections, creating a sense of safety, establishing essential service links and promoting improved health and overall wellbeing.
It also offers participants the opportunity to connect with others who share similar experiences on their path to recovery within a supportive group setting.
We provide essential supplies to families in need and offer no-interest home loans (NILS).
The No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) is a crucial initiative providing people and families with access to fair, safe, and affordable credit, with a maximum loan value of $2000, for the purchase of essential goods and services.
These loans are exempt from fees, charges plus interest and they are required to be repaid within a maximum period of 24 months.
Emergency relief provides immediate assistance to individuals facing financial crisis or hardship, offering material or financial aid such as vouchers, clothing and food parcels.
Our support prioritises maintaining the dignity of individuals and families while fostering self-reliance. Additionally, we link people with community services to address underlying challenges affecting their financial wellbeing.
